Biography:
I am the President and CEO for the Academy of Arts and Sciences Charter School (AAS), a system of five (5) charters authorized by five (5) authorizers, serving over 2,000 scholars throughout the State of California. I was named the CEO by the Board of Directors at their regular meeting in January 2016. Previously I had the honor of serving as Interim CEO, and prior to Interim CEO, held several positions on the Board of Directors, including President and Vice President.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University in History and Political Science. I also have a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University and am a Certified Fundraising Executive. I am currently enrolled in the Educational Leadership program at San Diego State University, working towards a Master of Arts in Education, with a concentration in Educational Leadership and specialization in preK-12 and focus on technology.

I am a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. I serve as the Young Professionals Giving Advisor for the Phi Kappa Tau Foundation. I am also a member of the El Dorado County Charter SELPA CEO Executive Committee and Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Education & Workforce Development Committees, and previously served on the City of Howell Economic Development Council and George Mason University Department of Global and Community Health Advisory Committee. I live in Thousand Oaks with my three (3) cats: Armoni, Cali and Franny, and dog Tiberius.

Biography:
I am the Director of Operations for the Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAS). I have been with AAS since April 2015. I worked as a Human Resources consultant until joining the staff full-time in July 2015.

My Division is responsible for Human Resources, Finance and the Management of how AAS operates including policies and procedures for the staff.

I was born and raised in New York and live there until I moved to California in 1985. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey and I hold a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification.

I am a member of the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).

I live in Tarzana with my son who attends Cal State Northridge - Go Matadors!

Biography:

Though her biggest ambition is to be a Homeschool Superhero making sure the world knows homeschooling is an educational option with Flash Gordon speed, Mae busies herself in the meantime as Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Academy of Arts & Sciences, raising four children, being a wife and investing in Advil. Originally from the Philippines, she relocated to Guam at 2 years of age and then moved to California when she was in high school. Mae received her B.A in Communicative Disorders from San Diego State University with a minor in Psychology and her M.A. in Special Education from Cal State University, Northridge with an emphasis on Language Delays and Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Mae has been married 24 years and homeschooled her children, taught college students, acted as as an educational consultant for several of the large educational publishing companies, run her owned businesses, worked as an Educational Facilitator/Specialist for other charters and has taught general education students as well as gifted, highly gifted, twice exceptional, autistic, deaf and hard of hearing children. Mae also helped develop and direct other homeschool charter programs in Southern California.
