Biography: I am a High School English teacher for Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAS). I have had the pleasure of working with innovative and creative AAS scholars since 2014.
I hold a Bachelor’s of Art degree in English from California State University, Fullerton. I earned my teaching credential at the University of Redlands.
Prior to working at AAS I was an educator in San Bernardino. During my time there I created and authored the middle school curriculum guides and teacher guides for English Language Arts, mentored new teachers in implementing effective teaching strategies and assessments, lead the English department as their department chair, participated in the AVID learning team, developed the district Inclusion Model for Special Education and worked alongside administration as a member of the leadership team.
I have had the opportunity to earn certificates in Cognitive Coaching, Content Area Specialist, AVID, Beginning Teacher Support Advisor (BTSA), Differentiated Instruction in English/Language Arts, Reading Across the Curriculum and Gifted and Talented Education (GATE).
I currently reside in Beaumont with my husband, 4 kids and our Yorkie named Steve. We are a soccer goal kicking, ballet twirling, tap dance loving family who loves to bike ride and go to the beach.
