Biography:
I am the 8th grade Physical Science teacher the Academy of Arts and Sciences Charter School (AAS). Before coming to AAS, I worked for Ontario-Montclair School District in a traditional brick and mortar setting for 14 years. I taught 5th and 6th grade Math and Science for a few years before going up to the district office as a Technology Coach. I worked as a Technology Coach, providing professional development for the district's 1,200 teachers for about 4 years before going back to the classroom to teach 8th grade Algebra, Physical Science, and Engineering. I eventually became the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Coordinator at the district's STEM school before moving on to becoming the Science Coordinator for the district. I am very passionate about all STEM areas, but Science and Engineering are especially fun!

In my most recent role before coming to AAS, I had the great pleasure of working closely and developing professional relationships with the state's top Science Education leaders. I worked with the county and state to deliver professional development to Science teachers on the Next Generation Science Standards. I am excited to be able to apply all of that learning with my own scholars here at AAS!

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Minor in Mathematics from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. My Master's Degree is in Educational Technology. I hold a K-8 Multiple Subject teaching credential as well as a high school Single Subject Math Credential, and an Administrative Services credential.

I live in Canyon Lake with my husband, two children, and way too many pets. Our family enjoys travel, adventure, and the great outdoors! We spend most of our free time on road trips, camping, and hiking. We love visiting our country's National Parks. When we are home, we hang out on the lake.
